BRETT PLAYER, OWNER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR


Brett Player, Owner and Creative Director at Play, specializes in brand strategy, marketing and advertising. Utilizing his 20+ years’ experience and skills in design, creative implementation and events, Brett has worked with Play’s clients, including BMG Music, The Coca-Cola Company, Dell, Florida State University (FSU), Google, Goodman Manufacturing, Murphy’s Restaurant, Pace Academy, Spanx, Sally Williams & Associates (SW&A), TalentServed, Zoo Atlanta and many more.

He holds a B.S. in studio art from FSU’s College of Fine Arts, a graduate degree in art direction & design from Miami Ad School (formerly known as Portfolio Center), as well as two (2) Master’s Certificates in user-experience (from Rutgers University) and advanced mobile marketing (from University of San Francisco). Prior to founding Play, Brett served as the creative director at Home Depot and Jackson Spalding, leading large teams of strategists, designers, art directors, copywriters, developers, videographers and media planners. 

Brett’s work has been featured in prominent publications, including AdAge, AdWeek, and Forbes. He is also the recipient of more than 50 industry awards, including the Addy’s, Amy, Communicator, Dieline, Graphic Design (GDUSA), Graphis and Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia (PIAG) Awards. Play has been recognized as a Seminole 100 recipient from FSU multiple times, as well as a two-time recipient of the Cobb Chamber “Top 25 Small Business of the Year.”

In his spare time, you can find Brett serving on the Board of Directors for Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, the Dean’s Advisory Council for FSU’s College of Fine Arts, and as an adjunct professor for the Miami Ad School and Furman University. He is deeply committed to service, community and paying it forward. In fact, he participated and graduated from the Leadership Cobb Class of 2024.

In his play time, Brett is an avid outdoorsman. With his wife Caroline, he enjoys traveling, RV’ing, hiking, fly fishing, kayaking and playing with his dogs. He is also a fan of the Atlanta Braves and FSU football, ‘Go ‘Noles’!
